I know of the fortuna project, but I don't know how it works in daily use. TLDR: Is doing a modbo 5.0 for the 9000x worth it over just using Funtuna? Does the modbo make it easier/less hassle to do SMB backup loading or is compatibility any different between the two? After looking around it doesn't seem like I really have a choice though because I can't actually find any 4.0's in stock and only 5.0s come up. Some forums recommend trying to get a modbo 4.0 as opposed to the 5.0 as it seems the 4.0 is closer to the original matrix chip the modbos are cloned from but I'm not entirely sure about that. I'm not concerned about installing the chip as I have the means for that but I'm wondering if the process of going through the install is worth it over just using Funtuna. I know the 9000x series doesn't allow FMCB and the only option is Funtuna but I'm wondering if getting a modbo is worth the effort. I'm wanting to run my game backups via the SMB method (for the faster load times and prolonging the disc drive/laser) with a raspberry pi. I'm looking at rebuying a PS2 slim from the 9000 series as that one was my favorite version of the slim.
